I missed Daddy!

Kueffer and Mommy went home for a couple of days to visit Grandpa Bob. Grandpa returned home from the hospital last Friday after his 'ankle accident', so we thought a quick visit may help the medicine go down a bit sweeter. We had a great time and Kueffer was very excited to see Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Lisa, Uncle Darryl and Quinten. (Cousin Brock was busy with basketball so we missed him on this trip.)

We returned home today and here are some photos of Kueffer and Daddy. You can see how happy they were to see each other!

It's gonna happen SOON!

Kueffer was up on all fours last night and actually moved forward...yikes! He is going to start crawling very soon.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Kueffer and Monkey go for a walk

Today we took advantage of the beautiful weather and went for a walk. We were so happy to be outside enjoying the warm weather before it gets too cold. We walked for well over an hour and Kueffer did not fall asleep until we were 1/2 a block from our home!
Aunt Bobbi gave Kueffer his new monkey friend, that we all named 'Harley'. He loves Harley!

My Grandpa is Tough!

This past weekend, Kueffer made his first visit to the hospital. Grandpa Bob broke his ankle last Wednesday cutting down a tree, so we went to visit him. Grandpa is doing okay, suffered a compound fracture, but okay.

Last week when Grandpa Bob was cutting down the tree, part 0f it fell on his leg. He had to actually use the chainsaw to cut the tree so that he could get his leg out. He then dragged his leg to the truck to call a neighbor (Thanks, Tom!) to come help him. No, he did not have his cell phone on him...probably will from now on! We all thought Grandpa was tough, but WOW! He IS tough!

AND Kueffer's cousin Quinten broke his foot he same day...left side, just like Grandpa Bob...both were at the same hospital, at the same time...WIERD!

These events make us even more mindful of all that we have to be thankful for!

Here is a photo of Kueffer with his Grandpa Bob...We love you!

"He's going to be a very active baby..."

Kueffer's pediatrician told me at his 2 month visit that he was going to be very active. Then at the 4 month visit, reconfirmed this. Kueffer is 'talking' and rolling over, never wants to stop as there is just too much for him to do! :) He is perfecting the art of the raspberry so we wanted to share this adorable video with you.

He is very close to crawling...eek! He is up on all fours and scooting now...Not sure if Mommy and Daddy are ready for this, but he is not slowing down!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today is Daddy's birthday. Mommy planned a mini photo session, but as you can see, the model was more interested in the bow and his toes than smiling!
Anyway, we hope you have a great day...we love you!
*Note: I had planned some really cute photos, party hat and all...but as most models go, this one was being a challenge. Annie Leibowitz, how do you do it?! :)

Ummm!

Kueffer had his 4 month pediatrician visit on Wednesday. Everything went very well! Once again, Dr. Espe confirmed that we have a very active baby boy- gulp! and that he looks great- duh! :) He has grown 6 inches since he was born and weighs a healthy 15 lbs. 12 oz. The Dr. said that Kueffer can now have rice cereal. I don't know how I feel about this...this is a sign that he is becoming a 'big boy' and Dr. Espe could tell- said that they seem much bigger than a baby once they start eating 'real food'. Sigh...

So...we introduced Kueffer to rice cereal mixed with diluted apple juice last night. He did not really go for it. Lots of 'yuck' faces! Today, I tried again. Seemed much more into it today. Okay, so maybe he was more into the 'cool spoon', but whatever! He did a bit better- definitely wearing more than was eaten. Perhaps the timing of learning how to 'raspberry' along with learning to eat was not the best...

New Friends

We are so excited- One of Mommy's college friends and her family just moved from SF to KC! Kueffer and I went to welcome them to our town this afternoon and had such a great time catching up.

Even though we had lived so far apart and lost touch over the last couple of years, we are finding out how much our lives are the same. Kueffer was born 2 weeks after their little boy, Brodie. I can't wait for them to become great friends...here is a photo of the new playmates.

Election Day!

The 2008 Election Day is only hours away ...so exciting! In Kansas, we can cast our ballots early so Mommy and Daddy have already voted. Kueffer just wants to remind everyone to get out and vote. No matter what your party affiliation, this is a very exciting and history making election. Please exercise your right as an American and vote!
*okay, so he does not look that excited in the photo- trust me, he is! :)
