Hi, it's me again. I know it has been a VERY long time since I have posted and so much has changed in our lives since September 2013. (seriously, I did not realize that it has been THAT long!)
I wanted to share this with whoever is reading, but mostly so that I would remember. ;)
Last week, I was driving Kueffer to school and on the radio the dj said 'Life is short'. I did not think anything of it. Then Kueffer said 'Why did that man say that?' 'Life is short.' 'That's not true.' I asked why he thought life wasn't short and he replied 'It's not! January was THIRTY ONE DAYS and took forever!' and 'I'm in school SEVEN hours every day!' I just said that as you get older, days seems to go by much quicker. And for me, that's true.
I can't believe Kueffer will be finished with kindergarten this week. It's been a really good year- lots of change: new school, new friends, GLASSES, ...and Matt and I have learned a lot along with Kueffer.
It went by way too fast for me...but I am sure not to Kueffer. :)

In September, Grandpa Bob and Grandma Mary Ann celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary!
We all had a great weekend filled with lots and lots of fun with the family.

All in the Family
Who would guess that this was the family on an only child?
Earlier this month, Kueffer's pre K class had a 'meet the teachers' night. Daddy and Mommy loved listening to all of the fun activities that the children had been doing and things that are planned for this year. It's gonna be a fun one!
They also had the children's art and other projects on display for the parents.
When we were looking at the family portraits on the wall, everyone was really drawn to this one.
Kueffer was the only child that drew more than just his immediate family. It is so cute and obvious that he knows that he is loved by many. Kueffer often asks about his Grandpas and Grandmas and we talk about everyone even though we may not see them every day.
Love how he also added his 'fur siblings' Lucy and Leo.
He is an original for sure!

First Soccer Game of the Season!
Yesterday was Kueffer's first soccer game this fall. He is on a pre k team, so it's nice that he is one of the older kiddos for the first time!
He really enjoyed getting in there and kicking the ball!
Of course, during warm ups he loved the games...this kid loves a good time! ;)
Once the game got started, he really got into it!
He even almost made 2 goals...knocked out of bounds right at the net. heartbreaking...for Daddy, at least. Kueffer didn't seem to mind.
It was a great fall morning and a lot of fun for everyone!

First Day of Pre K
Tuesday, September 3rd was Kueffer's first day of Pre K at Village
Our family loves Village Preschool and are so blessed that they offer a wonderful transition program for kiddos that are in the 'year of growth' stage before kindergarten.
There are 14 children in Kueffer's class- 8 girls and 6 boys. Finally, more girls than boys! (hopefully they can make a gentle impression on these wild boys!)
Several of Kueffer's buddies from last year went on to kindergarten and several stayed back, so it was interesting talking to him about why he was going to pre k. He was cool with it all, but the morning of pre k, he asked 'Is this kind of like high school? ...um, no. 'Well, did I get to skip kindergarten?'...not that either. Maybe he understood less than I thought.
Either way, he is loving it and I can already see how much confidence he is gaining and learning.

They all turned 5 over the summer and will go to Kindergarten next year.

Kueffer's Golden Birthday!

Swim Meet!
It's been a very busy start to our summer! Kueffer is involved in several activities and one of his favorites has been swimming! He is such a little fish!
The summer he participated in our club's precompetitive swim team...Go Meadowbrook Monsoons!
Last night was the first (and only) swim meet for the precompet team and he did such a GREAT job!
He was so excited to swim in a 'real race' and swam the entire length of the pool without stopping...yay!
(Just an fyi- all of the other swimmers were over 5 years old except for K and his buddy, Cole...yes, the mommy snuck them onto the team and they loved it!)
Here are a few pics of the super exciting meet. Kueffer swam against what appeared to be 7-9 year olds in his 1 event, but no worries...He had a blast! When it was over, he asked if he won and then yelled 'I'm a Champion!' :)

End of Year (almost) Party!
This morning, Kueffer and Mommy hosted his preschool class for a super fun End of Year (almost) Party! The last day of school is actually tomorrow, but we wanted to start the celebration. :)
We invited all of his classmates and their siblings and moms and dads. Almost everyone made it...a few not feeling well. (bummer!)
The kiddos had a GREAT time playing with the bubble wands, noodle 'swords' and 'lightsabers, bouncing in the bounce house or up in the tree house. It was so much fun for all of us to watch them play together. They were all soooo good! Mommy had a game planned and poor Daddy blew up 25 balloons for this 'great idea'...unfortunately, as many of Mommy's ideas, it looked better on paper. The balloons all popped when they hit the grass. oops!
It was unbelievably warm - yay- and such a great time. (Hard to believe that we had to cancel our Easter Egg Hunt for the class because of snow LAST month!)
Kueffer and Mommy LOVE our friends in preschool and we will miss them so much!

Weather
The weather is CRAZY this spring...wait, it IS spring, right!?! Last week, Kueffer walked outside the front door and said "Are you kidding me with this place? I am so tired of the rain!"
Well, tomorrow we are supposed to have SNOW! and he wants to go skiing.

Home of the Month!
Last week Mommy came home from running errands and found this in the yard...The Dawdys are the proud homeowners of the 'Home of the Month'! Not really sure who nominate us, but we were totally surprised!
Now Mommy and Daddy are just wondering if this title give us any sort of power in PV! ;)
Trip to the Vet
Kueffer and Mommy took Leo to the Vet today. Turns out that our sweet dog, has some really awful allergies. Poor Leo! Luckily, we are able to treat him, but he is just not himself.
While we were there, we weighed Kueffer and Leo...Leo doesn't weigh 80 lbs., but 90 lbs! and Kueffer is still holding strong at just under 40 lbs.

Tubing
One day in Colorado, Daddy and Mommy took Kueffer and Brodie tubing! It was COLD, but it was fun! The boys were fearless!

Flowering the Cross
Yesterday at Church, Mommy, Daddy and Kueffer helped with the Flowering of the Cross. We passed out flowers to everyone and then they put the flowers on the cross. It turned out beautiful!
Kueffer was such a big help in handing out the flowers and also had a great eye to spot any 'holes' in the cross and add flowers to cover.
It was a beautiful morning and a wonderful tradition for our family!
