The 'NEW' Dawdy

The Dawdy's have added a new member to the family...LEO!

We were so happy that we were selected to have Leo- he is a beautiful 4 year old and EIGHTY pound chocolate lab.  His owner could no longer care for him and we were anxious to meet him...once we did, we knew that he was the perfect addition to our family.

Our cat, Lucy has even warmed to him and he is very sweet to her as well. 

Kueffer is sure to reassure each of them that he loves them daily...it is just too cute!

Spring Break 2013

We had a wonderful time in Colorado this spring break!

Kueffer took his first ski lesson and LOVED it!  Daddy even reunited with the skis after many years and was a natural (again).  We enjoyed the week with our great friends - skiing, tubing, enjoying lots of yummy food and wine, and the big hit....'Hot Tub'!  The boys would yell 'HOT TUB TIME MACHINE' and were ready to enjoy it. 

 

It was a great week and we hope to go back skiing again next year.

St Patty's Day 2013

This St Patrick's Day we were on Spring Break in Colorado!

Two very cute leprechauns!

We went on spring break skiing with our good friends, the Colpitts.  Mommy and Mrs. Colpitts (kit) went to college together and Brodie and Kueffer are only 2 weeks apart in age! 

 

Even though we were away from home, we definitely knew how to bring the 'luck of the Irish' with us to our condo!

Snow Day Fun!

We have been lucky enough to enough a few snow days the last couple of weeks . 

We have had lots of fun enjoying the snow.

Kueffer and Daddy went sledding last weekend and had a blast! 

Today, we got more snow and it was perfect for snowballs and making a snowman!

 This is Kueffer and 'Coney'.  Kueffer wanted to make a cone headed snowman.  Who knows?! 

Completing Coney's look is a sugar cone hat, tomato eyes, and pepper nose.  Kueffer then decided he needed ears.

After our snow storm last week, Kueffer really helped to clear our 12" of snow. He was singing and shoveling. Daddy can't wait until he is older and can really shovel some of this stuff!

Kid Hoops

Daddy and Kueffer enrolled in kid hoop basketball this month and are having a wonderful time!

 The kiddos do drills with their mom or dad while 'Coach' directs them in what to do.

 So cute watching them learn to work together.

 Kueffer loves it!

Reading

 Kueffer got a new Star Wars book for Valentine's Day.  He loved it so much, he could not wait to share it with his buddy Cole.

Loved catching them 'reading' to one another.  So sweet!

Preschool Valenitine's Day party

 Mommy was lucky enough to get to volunteer in Kueffer's classroom for their Valentine's Day party!

 The children had so much fun playing outside, playing musical chairs...and some of those kiddos are serious about their musical chairs!  You would have thought that the winner, Jack had just won a gold medal!

We also got to make a special craft.  Mommy was the helper at a table full of girls, so she got her fill of glitter, pink and purple! :)

 

It was so much fun watching Kueffer play with his friends on this special day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Kueffer's love of all things Star Wars played into his Valentines for his preschool classmates. 
Kueffer and Mommy made this special 'light saber' valentines- and getting Kueffer to write his name on 16+ cards was no easy feat!
He kept reminding Mommy and Daddy that he had SEVEN letters in his name!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful and Happy Valentine's Day!
We feel very blessed to have our sweet 4 (and a half) year old sweetie!

Bitty Hoops!

 Kueffer played on a YMCA Bitty Hoops team last month.  It was definitely an experience...They held 3 practices and then 3 GAMES!  Yes, real games.  Or real for 4 and 5 year olds. 

 The coaches deserve A LOT of credit for just getting the boys to stop hugging and actually attempting to dribble and shoot. 

 Kueffer had so much fun and actually made a basket in a game! 

(of course, Mommy missed that shot!)

Dr. Smith

Last month, Kueffer went for his dentist appt. with Dr. Smith. He was so excited to see him and remembered everything Dr. Smith told him last time. He even reminded the dental asst of a few things. ;) We had to wait a while for Dr. Smith to come in- as all of the other little patients were not so happy to be in the dentist's office that day. K did not mind, he had A LOT to say to everyone...and I mean A LOT! When we left they gave K a gift certificate for frozen yogurt since he was so patient and good.

Kueffer's afternoon preschool class on Mondays always reads a story and then asked each little one a question regarding that story. The teachers then post all of the responses on the wall outside the room for everyone to read.
This particular Monday, a story was read about being sad. When Kueffer was asked 'What makes you sad?'...this was his response.
Great job, Daddy! ;)

P.S. Daddy was THRILLED that it was posted outside for everyone to read...at our CHURCH!

Little Ninjas

A couple of weeks ago, Kueffer and his buddy, Cole started Little Ninjas karate classes.

Seriously sooo cute!

 It's so sweet watching them listen and learn to the Sensei. 

Taking in all of the instructions on how to block and kick. 

 They are very excited to get their 'uniforms'...and be 'real' ninjas!

 

Another present?

 Kueffer was so good this year that Santa could not fit everything on his sleigh!  (and he had the flu, so didn't get everything finished in his workshop in time...hee hee)

We received word that Santa had made a late delivery to Grandma Karen's house a week later.

Of course, Kueffer could not wait....and found....a ....

DUNE BUGGY!

He loved it and hopped right in and went for a drive!

Santa Came!

 Santa and the reindeer really liked the treats Kueffer left for them. 

Biscuit the elf left Kueffer as sweet note before he left and a COOKIE that looked just like him! 

Kueffer was so excited and can't wait for Biscuit to visit again next year. :)

 Kueffer must have been really good this year...so many cool gifts!

 Santa brought the bow and arrow- Kueffer ran right to it!  (watch out, Hunger Games!)

 Even socks are exciting when they are from Santa (and Star Wars!)!

Santa must be a Jayhawk fan ...hmmm...well, Kueffer loves his new hat...and it's even growing on Mommy!

 

Kueffer got so many cool things from Santa - lots of Legos, Hot Wheels, Super Heroes...wow, that guy got it all right!  Daddy loved the toys too.  Not sure who's having more fun with them this year.

Reindeer Food

Once again this year, Kueffer wanted to make sure that Santa and his reindeer would not miss our house!

 

He put out lots and lots ...and lots of reindeer food for Rudolph to see the Dawdy house!
