Rain, rain go away!

Spring has been teasing us and we wish it would stay! Kueffer and Mommy love our walks and going to the park. The photo above is just last week when it was almost 80 degrees! Ugh, rain and, this weekend- SNOW, please go away. We are ready for spring!

Kueffer has been teething for the last few weeks and they are finally in...FOUR new teeth on top!

Captions Needed!

We really aren't sure why, but Kueffer LOVES to lick windows. All the time. In Florida, one morning I was playing with him when he suddenly crawled around the couch, went to the beautiful etched glass patio doors in Michelle and Tom's condo, and proceeded to slam his face into them and let his tongue guide him all the way to the floor.

It wasn't quite as cute when he came up to me a few days later and did the same thing on the bottom of my shoe (gross!)

We have since learned to deftly avoid his quick action tongue, but every once in a while he wears us down as he did this evening. I just had to take a picture of it.

Any suggestions for good captions? Michelle's off the cuff suggestion was, "Mmmm...Windex-y."

Happy St. Patty's Day!

What a weekend!

Kueffer had a wonderful and fun filled weekend! Grandpa Bob and Grandma Mary Ann arrived on Friday afternoon and the fun started. He was so happy to see them as were Daddy and Mommy. Saturday, Grandma and Mommy went shopping with Kueffer and then the Aunts, Uncles and cousins arrived. After watching the Tigers win the Big 12 (yippee!), we all went out to dinner. Kueffer was so exhausted from all of the fun, he slept so soundly each night. (double yippee!!)

Sunday was his BIG day...Baptism Sunday. We were so happy to have the family with us during the service. Kueffer looked so precious in the baptism gown and did beautifully during the entire baptism. After the service all of the family gathered at our home for lunch- Kueffer was so tired that he fell asleep on the way home from church and slept for 2+ hours! Of course, he missed most of the after celebration.

It was a wonderful weekend and beautiful celebration. We are all very blessed!

Baptism- Take 2

This Sunday Kueffer will be baptized. All of the family is healthy and will be there for his big day! His baptism gown is the same gown that his Great Grandfather and his Daddy wore and is over 90 years old!

Cheerios!

Kueffer has recently discovered Cheerios and loves them! - or at least loves to play with them! Here are some photos of him enjoying his favorite snack!

Last night, Kueffer got a wonderful surprise and AUNT BOBBI came to visit for the night! As you can see, he was so excited.

Kueffer is learning to clap which should be fairly easy for him to catch on to as Mommy and Daddy seem to clap and say 'Yeah, Kueffer!' following practically everything he does! Above is a very brief video of his 'clapping'!

What a day!

Yesterday was one of those packed days for Kueffer. We started the day going to the library for 'jump, jog and jingle' and he had a great time. The classic 'Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes' still holds up! Mommy was hoping that Kueffer would wear himself out enough for a nice nap. Kueffer had other ideas. So after a not so relaxing 1/2 hour snooze, Mommy and Kueffer went to the park. He is really loving the swing and just lounged back and enjoyed the ride! He was tired but still did not give in so we followed the park with a very long walk. After 2 hours of walking and charming many ladies in the Village shops, we were home.

Although Kueffer was tired, he never gave in. A nap would have been very nice, but it was a beautiful day and Mommy loved spending it with him!

Splish, Splash Kueffer's takin' a bath...

After a bit of a 'dry spell', Kueffer is back to loving his bath! He used to love getting a bath every night as part of our nightly routine. THEN, once the weather became cooler outside, Kueffer got this nasty rash on his back. The pediatrician said Mommy had a very rare condition of having a 'too clean' baby- so we reduced the baths to twice a week- at least until the weather gets warmer. Mommy loves her nightly bubble baths, so she knew that if Kueffer was anything like her, he would miss his! Once we came to terms and started our new nightly routine, Kueffer had discovered that he did not like these baths so much...okay, at all! We tried a new tub- one that was shaped like a duck and the bill honked...really!, new soap and lotion, new toys...nothing worked! Then, Mommy decided to try it without the props and just bathe 'old school'...just a few bubbles and his stacking cups. Guess what? He loves his bath again! Kueffer could stay in that tub for such a long time and loves to splash away! Whew...Mommy and Daddy were really starting to worry that our little guy was going to grow into PigPen. What a relief!

Fun at the Park

Today Kueffer and Mommy enjoyed a beautiful February afternoon at the park! Kueffer really is getting the 'hang' of the swing and even got some help from some of the little girls in the park. Yes, already charming the girls as they pushed him!

He also played on the slide and the teeter totter dinosaur. Kueffer had a great time and was exhausted when we left!

I'M BACK!

Whew! It has been a long couple of weeks around the Dawdy household. Kueffer has been to the pediatrician's office at least 4 times in the past 2 weeks. (New mommies can't be too careful, can they?!) He has had a cold, ear infections, etc...and what a trooper! Today, he really started acting more like his funny, little self. :) Kueffer and Mommy went to the library for Rhythm and Rhyme and had a great time. Mommy was hoping that Kueffer would take a nap this afternoon, but he had other plans. Kueffer wanted to make up for some lost 'play time' now that he is feeling better. Here are a few photos of him playing and then taking a break on his bear rug...enjoy!

Juicy Kisses!

Kueffer is just starting to 'kiss' and since he is teething, his are some very drooly smooches! It seems that he is getting more cuddly, but perhaps this is because he is not feeling well lately. Whatever the reason, Mommy and Daddy are really enjoying their sweet little baby.

Last Sunday Kueffer received a wonderful Valentine gift...Aunt Bobbi came for a visit! He loves his Aunt Bobbi and as you can see below, gave her many juicy kisses!

Giggle Session

Here is a video of one of Kueffer's many giggle sessions that occur most days! We are so lucky that he is such a happy little guy. As it turns out, Kueffer was probably suffering from an ear infection when this was taped. Does he look or sound like he is in pain? Mommy and Daddy could not believe it when the Pediatrician told us.

Obviously he is teething. (He is chewing on the fence to the farm set that Grandpa Bob and Grandma Mary Ann gave him for Valentine's Day!) Those 2 top front teeth are coming in!

Kueffer's New Wheels!

On Sunday, Kueffer went to his first Valentine Party hosted by our mom's group. He wasn't feeling 100%, but still did his best to charm everyone! :) Many of his playgroup friends were there too! Here are some photos of Kueffer cruisin' the playroom. He did not actually do much cruising- more like 'pushed' around the room. Kueffer then took an alternative to driving and slid thru the bottom of the car- yikes! Thanks to Peter and Lindy aka 'Jaws of Life' for rescuing him! :)

Hangin' with my Friends

Last Friday was a gorgeous spring, I mean winter day so Kueffer's playgroup met at the park. Kueffer tried out the swing for the first time. As you can see, he was mostly just hanging over the front of the swing, but he loved it! It was so much fun playing at the park with all of his little friends. We can't wait until the weather is warm every day so that Kueffer can play outside with his buddies!

Fun in the Sun!

Kueffer made his first trip to the beach! On our way to the beach, we saw this mama croc and her babies. Good thing that she did not see Kueffer as he may have appeared to be a tasty little morsel for her croc family! Yikes!

Once we reached the beach, Kueffer was fascinated with the sand. At first he was mostly curious, but then got his hands in it and really started exploring! He loved watching the waves. Mommy and Daddy took him out in the water a bit just to touch his toes and he was not thrilled with that as the water was fairly cold. (Ha, It was very cold!!!)

It was a great trip and we can't wait to get back to the beach with Kueffer!

Ahoy!

After a very fun day of shopping with Mommy and Grandma Karen on Friday, Kueffer tested out his sea (or gulf) legs and we set sail on Saturday! He loved the wind in his face and the waves. We were able to see dolphins swimming beside the boat too! After a bit Kueffer was getting a little tired, so we all took turns trying to get him to nap. Kueffer did not want to miss any of the excitement, but finally went to sleep about 20 minutes before we docked- of course!

It was a beautiful day and Kueffer proved to be a wonderful little sailor!

Planes, Trains, Automobiles, and .... boats!

Planes...

Kueffer has been on quite a journey the last few days. He went on his first trip and experienced so many new adventures! Last Thursday, the Dawdy's were off to Florida...yes, a bit later than expected as the airline informed us that the flight was cancelled about 30 min before we were leaving the house! Mommy got them booked on another flight that afternoon and off we went!

Kueffer was a wonderful traveller. It is funny to watch other passengers on the flight with their look of dread once they see a baby boarding. Much to their delight, Kueffer behaved excellently! One fellow flier even commented that she did not even know he was there...and she was sitting in the row in front of Kueffer! :)

So sorry for the lack of posts this past week. We were on vacation, but are back with so many photos to share. We promise they are worth the wait...stay tuned!
