Introductions

Kueffer has been quite a good host introducing all of the new 'holiday guests' in our home. This week, Kueffer introduced two of his new 'best friends' to one another. He fell in love with the Grinch doll the minute he saw it one morning and has taken him to 'school' and dragged him all over the house. Once Kueffer 'met' Baby Jesus from our Nativity scene this week, he had to get his new friends together! Kueffer thought Baby Jesus was pretty cool- he was pushing him around on the floor like a car and talking to him. When he made the 'big introduction' it was very formal...hugs and kisses, of course!

It is so cute watching Kueffer react to all of the wonderful lights and sounds this Christmas season. We know it will just get more and more fun each year!

We are going to another Breakfast with Santa tomorrow and are hoping that it goes better than the last.

Christmas in the Barn

Since the Christmas season has started, Daddy and Mommy have been reading Kueffer books centered around the season. We have books about Santa- hoping that it would help lessen any 'Santa anxiety'...okay, we've seen how that has gone so far! We have also been reading some books that explain the true meaning of Christmas. One of Kueffer's favorites is this book.


It is so cute and tells about the nativity in terms that Kueffer is interested in. It was written by the same author as 'Goodnight Moon' and the watercolor illustrations are very cute. Kueffer loves to read and read and read it over and over and over again...it is really cute as he makes all of the animal sounds that are in the barn with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. Kueffer loves pointing at the star too! We love reading it to him and being able to tell him the story of the nativity.

A new place to hide

Daddy and Mommy had to rearrange a bit of funiture in order for the tree to fit. Kueffer loves it! He has much better access to the big picture window in front and the new arrangement give him even more places to hide!

'Tis the season...

and Daddy, Mommy and Kueffer are in party mode! Last weekend, we attended our first Breakfast with Santa. Kueffer had a lot of fun and LOVED the pancakes, but when Santa finally showed up, he was ready to go! (yes, Santa was LATE to the breakfast...nice.) Let's just say that Kueffer was not a fan- Mommy thinks it was not the real Santa anyway. The real Santa would never leave the children waiting all morning, right?

Mommy also thought it would be a great idea to have Kueffers Christmas photo taken. Idea, yes...Great, not so much. Kueffer was having the best time at the studio before his session. The photos that were being taken before were of dogs (yes, dogs) and one was a GREAT DANE. Kueffer LOVED them and was laughing and having a wonderful time. Then they had to leave...uh, oh...Kueffer wanted to leave to and within a few minutes of the photo session, so did Mommy. By the time it was finally over, Kueffer was covered in peppermint stickiness from the many candy canes he ate while 'posing'. Thanks to the editing of the photographer, here is one of the photos.

These events may be enough to keep some Moms from more and more parties, but not this one. Another party this weekend and Breakfast with Santa 2. That Jolly, Old elf better be on time this Saturday! :)

The 'Tickling' Tree

Kueffer has really been enjoying the tree. He loves playing with the ornaments, looking at the lights and today, the tree 'tickled' him. He was putting his foot up and giggling as the tree branch 'tickled' his toes. He is one funny kid!

Runway Baby

Kueffer tried on his new 'puffy' winter coat and LOVED it! He was wearing it around the house this morning and going up and down the rug in the kitchen- modeling his new coat. :)

Kueffer woke up today after only a 1 hour nap and was not happy. Mommy tried everything and finally resorted to trying some of Daddy's peppermint ice cream. It worked.
Sometimes it's the only thing that can make you feel better!

Sorry for the poor quality of this photo, but Kueffer and Lucy (the cat) were under the tree enjoying the warm glow together...I could not risk messing this up by running to get the 'real' camera!
Kueffer and Lucy both LOVE the tree! Lucy will lounge under that tree the entire time it is up- well, unless a very active 17 month old really bothers her! It is so sweet to see them enjoy the tree and the lights. Wish December lasted more than a month!

Wake up, Daddy!

Poor Daddy can not catch a nap when Kueffer is around. ( I know, whaaa!) But if you have to be woken up, isn't it best to be woken by a kiss from your sweet little boy?

He LIGHTS up our lives!

Kueffer and Mommy restrung the tree lights yesterday. Daddy did a great job, but half of the lights went out, so we took them down and restrung them. ah, the joys of holiday decorating!

Daddy put up the tree and the lights last night. When Kueffer woke up this morning, his first words were 'WOW' and 'Whoa'! He loved all of the lights on the tree.
Hopefully that will be enough for a few days. Ornaments and other decorations look like they are gonna have to wait until this weekend!

Beach Baby

Okay, maybe not so much this trip. Kueffer is teething like mad and those nasty incisors really messed with him on this trip! We made it to the beach every day and once Kueffer made his reacquaintance with the sand, he was having fun! He is his Daddy's son, so he spent the greater portion of his time in the sun under the canopy!
Ahhhh...we will remember these warm and relaxing days as the weather gets cold here in KC...

So much to be thankful for!

We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We definitely feel very blessed to have spent our holiday with our families and Kueffer loved seeing everyone! It was so much fun watching him play with the other children and he really enjoyed the yummy food! He actually pulled the dining chair out and tried to climb up into the chair to get started before everyone else!

*Note the 'gobble' on Kueffer's shirt. He had been saying 'gobble, gobble' all week...then Thanksgiving finally arrives, and nothing...never said it all day. Kids.

On Friday, Grandpa Bob and Grandma Mary Ann came for a visit with Aunt Bobbi...they were so excited to see him and he LOVED spending time with them. Can you say 'spoiled'? :)

We have so much to be thankful for!

We're Back!!!

We had a wonderful time in Florida! Kueffer was a great little traveller, well until the last hour of the flight home...but that only lasted a few minutes. We were able to relax and enjoy the warm weather, going to the beach every day while there! Here are a few pictures of us 'travelin'. No, you definitely DO NOT travel light with a little one, but all of the props and snacks are worth it!

Luckily, this is how Kueffer looked during most of our flight time.

Kueffer's first ice cream cone

On Mommy's birthday, Kueffer had his first ice cream cone and he LOVED it! He enjoyed every bit of the ice cream and cone...for the first time ever, there was nothing left in the high chair or floor. Baby's got a sweet tooth!

This past weekend we visited our friends Amy and Casey for a wonderful dinner and had the best time chatting and watching the kids play together. As you can see from the video, little Maggie and Kueffer had a great time. We love that our littles have so much fun together!

Ready for the cold weather

Kueffer has been learning to eat with a fork and spoon and is actually pretty good at both. Today, he found a way to get MORE food on the spoon and into his mouth!

The Dawdy's salute to Caddyshack!

Last year Mommy felt a little cheated out of our big win, but this year...the Dawdy's did it! We won Best Family Costume at our playgroup's halloween party...okay, not the stiffest of competition, but a win none the less. You could say that Mommy is a bit competitive.

We would like to thank 'Gopher' for being a part of the family that day...we think that may have given us the edge we needed! Oh, and isn't Kueffer the most adorable golfer? Also have to say that Daddy was a VERY good sport and seemed to really get into character. He may have originally acted like he wasn't interested in dressing up as Bill Murray, but we know he secretly loved it!

Peek a Boo!

Kueffer can find just about anywhere to hide...fortunately for Mommy, he doesn't quite 'conceal' himself that well...yet!

Spooky 'hood

The Dawdy's hosted a Pre Trick or Treating party on Halloween for the neighborhood + a few friends. It was so much fun and Kueffer loved playing with all of his friends...

He has become quite the 'little host' over the past few days. :)

Of course, it would be a crime to wear the same outfit to a party two days in a row, so Kueffer was dressed in his GOLFER costume complete with little clubs!

Little Goblins all around!

Kueffer hosted his playgroup Halloween Party this morning.

It was so much fun to see all of the littles dressed in their costumes!

Kueffer finally put on his chicken costume- just in time for pics and immediated covered it in cookie frosting and sticky fruit snacks- yuck!

It was a fun party with lots of SUGAR- great prep for the Halloween festivities tomorrow!

Wheeeee!

Kueffer and Mommy met our friends Kit and Brodie at the Pumpkin Patch on Wednesday.

It was finally a beautiful day outside and we all had a great time!

The boys really loved the haystack and slide- and it was a BIG slide!
